What is the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?

I would have to say... My girlfriend Donna did a pretty nice thing for me just about two months ago. She had been telling me about this cat that was a rescue cat sitting in a display window up at Pet Smart for about two months now. Truly the older cats that are not tiny and cute don't get much of a look at but for some reason this little girl would do the cutest little things to catch Donna's attention. Week after week after week Donna would go see her when she went shopping there for her 4 cats that she already has at home. Being that she was at her limit with the number of animals she was allowed by city law she turned to me and said she would buy her for me as a early birthday gift if I would take her in. I truly thought she was joking then I seen her grab the pre adoption paper and start to fill it out. I have never in all my years seen Donna this dead set on something. I knew it was really important to see this little girl finally out of that display window. This little girl pretty much had my heart strings in about 1. 2 minutes. Knowing she had been sitting in that small space for as long as she had been and not having much at all interaction and physical attention? It did not take me long at all to think this through and call my husband to see if he to would not mind opening our home to another fur baby. We already had 3 male cats, a St Bernard, a Lab Shepherd mix and 2 Holland Lop bunnies. Good thing her paper works said she is wonderful with other cats and dogs. She was not what you would call cheap either. She was $125.00 for the adoption to be finalized before I could take her home. We were told it would more then likely be 48 hours before hearing back from the foster mom. Her foster mom would the cat back to her house two days out of the week to give her a bit of a break from being on display. I was told the foster mom would have to run a check on me to make sure that I did not have a bad history with animals. Pet Smart said they were going to fax my information over to her right away. By the time I said good bye to her and returned home I had already had a phone call on my answering machine. It was the foster mom of the cat I was wanting to adopt. She interviewed me over the phone, ran a check on me even before calling me. Being I have more respect for animals then people I knew that I would fly through the history check. It's just not in me to harm an animal. Never has been and never will be. I was told that Ariel was the cats name. She was around 1 year old. She is a beautiful gray in color Calico with a cream color patch on the back of her head and her belly. She was found a week before she gave birth to 8 healthy kittens that had all been adopted out and Ariel (MOM) just needed a stable loving home where she would feel cared for, have the attention that she deserves and a happy environment to live out her days. Within a hour Donna my friend and I went back to pick up my little bundle of joy and bring her back to what she would know as home sweet home. She is truly a funny cat and each day keeps us in stitches with her personality and keeps my boys in line yet loves to play with them. She plays with my St Bernard as if there is no tomorrow and adores my Lab ,Shepherd, Rot and Chow mix. My husband and I have a city Kennel license that allows me more then the city limit in having animals so if your wondering why Donna could not have Ariel and I could. That's why. What was really wonderful to see is that she took right to my two bunnies and plays wonderful with them. Each one of my animals can play in the same room and never one time hurt one another. I'm always right there just incase but I have no doubt in my mind they would ever turn on one another. They have a respect, a trust and a bond for each other. No one has person other then my husband has ever made such a wonderful sweet gesture in buying me something that could bring my family and myself such happiness and delight. I'm grateful to Donna and I'm sure Ariel is to for being such a good friend and opening her heart to buy me such a wonderful little girl that I just adore to no end. I would have to say this has been one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me and in return? For Ariel to as well.
